DETAIL

Description

Opened in August 2019, this magical Edwardian building has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room where we hope to deliver to our customers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Newcastle. Dean Waterworth and Jasmine Morgan lead the team and ensure each and every one of our guests feel welcome and at home. Join us in the bar for some light bites and fantastic drinks curated by Brynn Wise who heads up a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists and bartenders. We have an elegant 60 cover brasserie which aims to serve classic dishes, including a generous Sunday lunch, using the very best ingredients with plenty of flavour but no fuss. We are proud to have one of the best and brightest kitchen brigades who deliver great quality food under head chef Neil Jefferson. Above all we want you to relax, enjoy the music and feel at home here at Hibou Blanc. We have taken up residency in grade II listed Sunlight Chambers which was built on the corner of the Bigg Market and High Bridge street in 1902 for the Lever Brothers, soap manufacturers, by nationally renowned architects W.S.Owen. Named after their most famous product Sunlight soap this quirky building is curiously coloured and has a remarkable mosaic freeze that depicts work and honest toil. Thankfully inside is every bit as beautiful as outside we have been able to incorporate many of the Sunlight Chambers existing features into the Hibou Blanc design to create a wonderful location that oozes old school style and glamour. Welcome to the world of the White Owl.
